According to Feng Shui the main door of the house is one of the most important features and it should be rightly placed. It is this main entrance of the house through which all the good energy and good luck enters the house.

There should be no obstruction near the front door either inside or outside. Any kind of obstacle near the main door could result in all the good luck turning into bad luck. Ideally, the main door should open into a bright spacious room or a small foyer with no obstructions like a shoe rack, etc. near the door. There should be no clutter near the door.

Another type of obstruction in front of your main door is the presence of a column (pillar) in front of the main door. This is a very serious type of defect and should be immediately corrected, by shifting your door.
