Sau the God of Longevity
by aditipai in June 11th, 2008
Sau is one of the three Chinese gods which are together known as Fuk, Luk, Sau. The God of Longevity is Sau and he is most popular as he symbolizes good health and a long and smooth life, free from sickness.
Sau is shown as an old man with a staff in his hand and the magical gourd is tied to the staff. The gourd or the Calabash is again an excellent symbol of longevity. The God Sau is not worshipped but is just displayed. The most suitable place to keep Sau is the living room and diagonally opposite to the main door. Please note, that there should not be a window or a toilet or the kitchen directly behind, or in front of him.
