The telephone and the fax machines are communication devices. They are the harbingers of business to you. Whenever the phone rings, you get excited at the opportunity of a customer calling you up, to give business to you, or asking for your goods or services. It is always desirable to have customers, who are sympathetic to you, and are almost like mentors to you. The telephone and fax machines are of the metal element. Hence, due to both the above reasons, I advocate the placement of the telephones and fax machines, in the north-west corner of the office, as far as possible.

Here we should note that the north-west is the area of helpful people, and its element is metal.
