Northwest rooms are ideal for guests. The cots can be in the southwest of the room without touching the walls and with the head towards south

(2). The deity ruling northwest is Vayu or the wind-god. Hence it is best to avoid children in a northwest room, especially in their formative years. Boys should definitely be avoided giving this area.

The north-west corner is ideal as a guest room. This is the centre for vayu and denotes movement. Guests so placed mean that they will not stay unduly long.
